Everything You Want to Know about Breaker Testing
October 6, 2010
Omni William Penn Hotel
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Come to learn everything you want and need to know about circuit breaker testing in this half day seminar presented by Doble’s Jozef Levi and Joe Brown. The seminar is divided in three parts: basic design characteristics of high voltage circuit breakers, testing circuit breakers, and analysis of test results.
You will receive an introduction to circuit breaker design and function which provides basic information for better test preparation and test results analyze. The seminar emphasizes the importance of good preparation for all stages for circuit breaker testing.
This seminar will cover different test methods and applications to detect circuit breaker characteristics, particularly breaker timing and motion. Methods include, but are not limited to:
- Timing
- Breaker Insulation
- Insulation Medium Quality
- Lubrication
- Contact Resistance
- Partial Discharge
- Power Factor
Case studies with different type of circuit breaker designs will also be presented for real world application of the seminar information.
Jozef Levi was born in Sarajevo in the former Yugoslavia. He received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Sarajevo University in 1973. He joined Doble in 1999 as Circuit Breaker Application Engineer. He has one USA Patent.
Joseph Brown is a Doble Application Engineer. During his nine years with Doble he has worked primarily the area of client support, providing on-site training and over-the-phone technical support to Doble clients. Prior to joining Doble, Joseph worked in an aluminum mill where he was a Plant Engineer, in a steel mill as a Power Department Supervisor and as a Core-Form Transformer Design Engineer at a transformer manufacturing plant.
This seminar is part of Finepoint's 17th Annual Circuit Breaker Test & Maintenance Training Conference. To register for this event and attend this seminar click here.
