Doble is proud to announce the 15th annual EuroDoble Colloquium in the cosmopolitan city of Berlin, Germany. The schedule has been expanded to include a number of options for engineers to choose from.
This is a forum for sharing best practices with lifetime care of assets in power systems, power stations & industrial sites including:
• Asset and Maintenance Management
• Protection Testing Practices, Concerns & Training
• High Voltage Equipment Training & Diagnostics Sessions
• Utility-Only Session where Utilities can discuss concerns without the presence of Manufacturers
• Supplier Exposition and Factory Tour
Programme
Asset and Maintenance Management:
On Monday, 19 October there will be an Asset and Maintenance Management Conference Session with two main themes, each led with key expert papers but focusing on audience contributions to share their experiences and identify best practices in lifetime care of the infrastructure assets. The two main themes will be:
• Assessment of supplier factories for capability and performance
• Assessing companies for their asset management processes
On Tuesday, 20 October there will be an Asset Management Round Table in which a smaller group of active asset managers will share experiences.
High Voltage Equipment:
On Monday, there will be Training on Diagnostics for High Voltage Equipment. The entire day will be devoted to training for HV test engineers and is suitable for new entrants or those with some experience.
On Tuesday, there will be a Conference Session on Diagnostics for High Voltage Equipment. The session will focus on audience presentations sharing experiences gained from diagnostic investigations and implementing new maintenance practices or unusual experiences found.
Protection:
Monday there will be a Protection Conference Session with presentations from utilities, consultants and manufacturers on the following topics:
• Maintenance Criteria for Microprocessor Relays
• New Wind Farm Installation in Europe
• Protection Issues and Design Constraints as Applied at Wind Farms
• The Use of DigSilent software to create COMTRADE Files that can be Played into F6150 to Test Specific Functions
• Different Types of Communication Assisted Protections in European Countries
• Implementations of IEC 61850 at European Utilities
• Evolution of Bus Differential
• Utility Case Studies
Tuesday we will offer a Basic Protective Relaying Course.
On Wednesday there will be a tutorial sessions on Relay Testing Using Doble's F6150 Power System Simulator and a Demonstration of Doble Test Set/Software IEC61850 Testing Capabilities.
Utility-Only High Voltage Session:
Wednesday utilities and testing companies can openly share their experiences relating to plant performance and failures. (Manufacturers and insurers may not attend this session)
Factory Tour:
On Thursday, 22 October we will consist of a Siemens factory tour. Details to be announced shortly.
Who Should Attend the 2009 EuroDoble Colloquium:
Electric Utility Engineers, Asset Managers, Risk Managers, Utility Regulators, Consultants, Engineers and Technicians involved with HV Plant, Protection Testing Technicians, Manufacturers, Equipment and Materials Suppliers, and Insurance Companies.

Costs to Attend the 2009 EuroDoble Colloquium:
• Companies with a Doble Service Agreement may attend free of charge.
• Presenters of key papers in the sessions may attend free of charge.
• Others can attend the Colloquium at a price of 750€ per person.

There are several airports in Berlin that you can fly into for the Colloquium. The Berlin Tegel Airport is 13 km away from the Westin Grand and it takes approximately 20 minutes. The Berlin Schonefeld Airport is about 22 km away from the Westin Grand and approximately a 20 minute drive.
