Preliminary Agenda
16 and 17 January: Session 1 -- Power Forum Open to all attendees
Keynote address -- "Managing System Growth and Performance"
Theme 1 - Equipment manufacture
The government targets to meet Indias power needs involve a massive capital investment programme. Presentations are invited particularly from the equipment manufacturers describing how they are planning to meet this increasing challenge.
Theme 2 - Power circuits
The lines and cable circuits are the backbone of the transmission and distribution network. Presentations should cover design, operation and repair, ratings and diagnostics.
Theme 3 - Substation Automation and Protection
The key of the network lies in its substations, and protecting them under adverse conditions is therefore extremely crucial. As the pressures on availability of power increases, so does the demand on efficient and correct fault discrimination. Presentations are invited on relay hardware and testing and implementing a common communications protocol,.
Theme 4 - Power transformers
The most expensive asset remains the power transformer, together with its tap changer and bushings. Presentations should cover capital purchase, rebuilds, life assessment and diagnostics.
Theme 5 - Substation equipment
As the asset base has aged, we are learning more about the factors affecting asset life of key equipment types, quantifying the risk exposure through condition assessment health reviews and business impact analysis, and mitigation through focusing operating and capital expenditure. Contributions are invited on these aspects as they relate to the wide range of substation equipment: circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, capacitor banks, arresters, insulators and substation earthing.
Theme 6 - Power station equipment
One of the biggest international issues, and certainly one attracting the largest number of insurance claims, is reliability of the generators. Presentations should cover diagnostics, materials, manufacture and rebuilds, life expectancy of windings, core, rotor body and accessories.
18 January: Session 2- Interactive IndiaDoble session for Utilities only
- Delegates at similar Doble sessions have said there is "No other event like it in the world!!"
- Delegates place a high value on the "utility only session" because the private meeting results in open and highly beneficial discussions between the utilities.
Topics:
- Monitoring to ensure reliable performance- Data gathering and application to assess performance, availability, reliability, failure rates, service continuity/ compliance
- Best practice: Share a good practice
- Failures and malfunctions review: Recent experiences to be shared.
