F6810 High-Power, Low-Range Current Source

Testing high-impedance electromechanical relays is a challenge for any test instrument. This is especially true for overcurrent electromechanical relays that detect ground or earth faults – among the most critical and sensitive protections in the system. You rely on these relays the most when everything else fails to detect a high-resistance fault. Therefore, it is imperative to ensure that they are working correctly. The F6150 is the only instrument that has the power to test ground overcurrent relays correctly. The F6810 option provides the F6150 with high compliance voltages for high-power testing at low current ranges.

F6895 GPS Receiver/Antenna

The F6895 is a GPS receiver/antenna with a 100 ft (33 m) cable. This internal option works with the external F6885 GPS Receiver Interface to provide the GPS signal to the F6150. Both the F6885 and F6895 options are necessary to ensure GPS synchronization capability. When access to open sky is not available, use the F6050 GPS Simulator instead.

F6910 Advanced Automation and Communication

The F6910 automates protection testing with an external PC. This option can be used to perform automated testing with Doble’s ProTesT software system, F6TesT visual protection testing software, or any third-party software system.

External Options

F6820 Analog Input Measurement (AIM)

The Analog Input Measurement (AIM) option gives you the ability to record external analog or digital signals using the F6150’s logical inputs. You can also record the internal analog signal the F6150 generates.

With Doble’s TransWin software application, you can create, retrieve, analyze, and play back recording details of the F6150. Recording of the analog and digital signal is done at a 10 kHz data rate. The recording can be stored on a PC in industry-compliant COMTRADE format.

F6875 Variable Output Battery Simulator (VOBS)

The Variable Output Battery Simulator option allows you to define an arbitrary DC output from the F6150. In addition to fixed values of 48, 125, and 250 VDC, you can now select any value between 6 and 300 VDC.

F6150 instruments purchased before 2004 may require changing the power supply module to implement VOBS. Please contact Doble Customer Service or your local representative for information.

F6800 Transducer Interface

The F6800 Transducer Interface enables the F6150 to test energy meters and transducers with highest accuracy, including meter measurement studio software. The F6800’s graphical interface allows test engineers to quickly perform simple performance verification tests on all meters and transducers. It allows you to develop a library of automated tests based on your specific practices and test results.

F6885 GPS Receiver Interface

The F6885 synchronizes multiple F6000 instruments with a GPS satellite system. It also stays synchronized to GPS after start. You can schedule a simultaneous start time of the protection test from remote ends of the system. This type of end-to-end testing offers complete protection scheme testing, including the testing of communication equipment.

F6860 IEC 61850–Compliant Protection Testing

Modern protection test systems are designed to comply with the IEC 61850 GSE messaging standard. The F6860 option and Doble protection testing software package make testing protection schemes that use IEC 61850–compliant IEDs (intelligent electronic devices) simple. Testing these systems requires only a cable connection between the F6150 and the IEC 61850 communication network, eliminating the need for numerous test leads between the IEDs under test and the logic I/O of the test instrument.

For testing a hybrid system, with IEC 61850–enabled IEDs and conventional relays, you can use both wired-logic I/O connections and GSE messaging. The F6150 with F6860 option can handle 8 wired inputs, 8 wired outputs, 32 GSE input messages, and simulate 32 GSE output messages simultaneously. The GSE messages can also be a combination of GOOSE and GSSE (compatible with UCA2) message types.

Testing is easy with the user friendliness of the Doble software testing package. The IEC 61850 GSE Configurator discovers messages in the network and configures the F6150 to subscribe to and simulate GOOSE and GSSE messages. You then use ProTesT or F6TesT in the normal way to perform the test.

F6071 Infrared Optical Pickup

The F6071 Infrared Optical Pickup senses infrared pulses from calibration LEDs on most solid-state meters. It feeds these pulses into a logic input on an F6150, to automate the testing of solid state watthour, varhour and VAhour meters. The wide angular displacement of this sensor allows for fast, non-critical alignment. Automatic gain-control circuitry assures operation in all ambient sunlight conditions.

F6072 Visible Light Optical Pickup

The F6072 Visible Light Optical Pickup is available for solid-state meters with a visible calibration LED.

F6073 Meter Disk Sensor

The F6073 Meter Disk Sensor is a suction-mount, reflective pickup assembly used to sense disk rotation of an induction-type meter. The F6073 generates pulses that are fed into a logic input of an F6150, to automate testing of induction-type meters.
