DESCRIPTION:Transformer reliability is dependent on the health of all subcomponents, notably the on-load tap changer (OLTC). On-load tap changers contain the only moving parts of a power transformer and introduce reliability risk should mechanical deficiencies exist. While conventional DC winding resistance measurements are performed in a static state, Dynamic Resistance Measurements (DRM) provide insight into the characteristics and condition of an on-load tap changer and contacts while transitioning between taps. The Doble M7100 offers DRM capability, with results recorded in the Doble Test Assistant (DTA) test file.
