Following the previous month’s webinar, we will shift the focus to offline testing techniques for rotating machines. We will review the differences between online and offline testing, and then focus on offline testing techniques and the knowledge that various techniques can bring about the condition of the generator or motor. We will address the different methods that can be applied during major and minor outages from simple visual inspection, insulation resistance and power factor testing, to partial discharge and, ELCID, and flux ring tests.
