Learn about on online testing techniques for rotating machines, namely, generators and motors. After reviewing the differences between online and offline testing, this session will focus on online testing techniques and the knowledge that various techniques can bring about the condition of the machine. Some of the methods which will be covered include partial discharge on the stator bars, EMI surveying, and vibration monitoring. Real world examples of these testing techniques being applied and problems detected will be presented.
