This 4-hour webinar is designed for technicians involved with testing of protective relays. This webinar will discuss the theory of distance relays of a microprocessor relay followed by a step-by-step procedure for testing all functions of this element. Both phase and ground distance elements will be covered. The test plan creation will be done using Doble testing software Protection Suite. In the process of creating the tests, an excellent overview of the testing software will also be included.
- Brief overview of relevant sections of Doble testing software Protection Suite.
- Brief overview of Doble test set F6150
- Description and theory of the phase and ground distance elements, and logic setup within the relay.
- Create tests for minimum pickup of distance elements, max torque test and characteristic plotting.
This Webinar will be presented by Ed Khan of Doble Engineering Company.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and NETA CTDs are available for this course. NETA CTDs should be requested directly from NETA upon presentation of the course completion certificate.
