Temperature and Humidity Monitoring
Condition Monitoring Platform for Switchgear
Doble’s temperature and humidity monitoring platform delivers continuous, real-time insight into the health of critical medium-voltage electrical power assets—helping you reduce unplanned outages, improve safety, and move confidently to condition-based maintenance. Using non-invasive, passive surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors, the platform is well-suited for medium-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, bus ducts, generator circuit breakers, and transformers.

IRM Reader is a remote monitoring unit providing temperature and humidity sensing for predictive, condition-based monitoring of critical electrical power assets such as switchgear, circuit breakers, and bus ducts. Connect IRM Readers to substation SCADA systems using industry-standard Modbus-RTU communications or to the CAM-5 for real-time visibility and alarm notifications.

Doble air interfaces are designed to maximize the performance of Doble’s, passive surface acoustic wave sensors.

Doble humidity sensor provides real-time, continuous monitoring of critical electrical power assets to identify the potential for flashover. The sensor’s sintered cap, threaded body, water resistant M12 connector, and 4 kV surge protection provides the level of robustness required for reliable operation in harsh environments. CAM5 allows up to 8 humidity sensors to be bussed together for multiple location installations such as along a bus duct.

Doble IS conductor temperature sensors are the ideal method for real-time, continuous monitoring of medium or low voltage critical asset hot-spots such as bus bars, breaker contacts, and cables. Surface acoustic wave technology enables a 100% wireless, passive (no power required), continuous temperature monitoring sensor. The sensors were specifically designed for electrical power assets with basic insulation levels (BIL) up to 185kV.

Doble low-profile (LP) sensors have all of the benefits of the IS sensors, with slightly different dimensions to accommodate different installation requirements. In some installations, having a low-profile sensor allows for installation of sensors where taller bolt-mounted IS sensor would not have the proper clearance. This low-profile sensor allows for unique installations, such as installation directly onto a circuit breaker arm.

Doble low voltage temperature sensors provide monitoring data based on physical contact with live (powered) potential hot spots while still ensuring electrical isolation through the use of embedded Integrated Near-Field Coupling (iNFC) wireless technology. iNFC allows for a high density of sensors in a single asset, ensuring all desired points can be monitored. CC-TC and CC-WC sensors are designed to monitor a single point by clipping directly onto a busbar, and they can be daisy-chained to monitor multiple hard-to-reach locations.
