Abstract: How great it would be if we could just see inside the transformer! Unfortunately, that is typically not the case, and the internal components of a transformer are not accessible for inspection. Luckily however, we do have the transformer nameplate, and with proper understanding, the information it holds can prove to be invaluable for the technician, engineer, and asset manager. This webinar will discuss the information found on a typical transformer nameplate, what it means, how it relates to the internal configuration of a power transformer, and the relevance of that information to your testing.

Presenter Bio:
Travis Keller is a Senior Client Engineer at Doble Engineering and has been with Doble since 2025. Previously, he worked for 7 years at Western Area Power Administration as a Substation Maintenance Supervisor and a Substation Maintenance Engineer for the North Dakota Maintenance Office. His experience includes commissioning, maintaining, and replacing various high voltage apparatus along with management of substation projects. Travis is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Dakota and serves as the Assistant Secretary for the Doble Asset and Maintenance Management Committee. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University.
