Watertown, Mass. & PARIS – December 17, 2015
To continue to enhance the reliability of France’s power grid infrastructure, Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) has selected Doble Engineering Company’s M4100 insulation analyzers to closely track the condition of its thousands of measurement transformers. Doble, a subsidiary of ESCO Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ESE), will provide M4100 Power Factor/Tan-Delta test sets, Doble Universal Controllers, and Doble Test Assistant software to RTE’s grid maintenance teams across France.
In order to optimize its knowledge about the health of its measurement transformer fleet, RTE decided to implement a new diagnostic method. After two years of research and testing, RTE determined that Tan Delta testing was the best measurement technology to confirm insulation integrity for its measurement transformers.
The Doble M4100 is the industry standard for Power Factor/Tan-Delta testing. With its unique combination of comprehensive test capabilities, along with user-friendly analysis software customized for RTE’s needs, the RTE maintenance teams can quickly perform tests on these transformers.
“The diagnostic tests RTE can perform with the M4100 insulation analyzers are immensely powerful, especially when combined with the support of Doble’s European engineering team and Doble’s unparalleled database of historical test data,” said Mark Rivers, vice president of client service engineering at Doble. “The informative results will be used to guide RTE’s overall asset management policy.”
