Remote Console-Version 2.06.03
The Remote Console program installs a virtual MTS-5×00 test system on your Windows PC. Remote Console is free for MTS-5×00 users.
This program allows you to:
- Control the MTS-5000 or MTS-5100 remotely using a network connection
- Use the program offline to create, test, and save new test plans using an MTS-5000 or MTS-5100 interface, or by importing test plans into RapidTest 0.96 or later (or RapidReporter 0.95)
- Help users become familiar with the MTS-5×00 interface while the test system is being used by other people.
- Provide technical support from your PC
- Assist design engineers who wish to create specific test plans in their office to prove their settings and have the test plans played by the field personnel.

Always use the same version of MTS-5100/5000 software and Remote Console to prevent compatibility issues
MTS-5000/5100 Software-Version 2.06.03
This software release (2.06.03) contains bug fixes and some enhancements to version 2.06.02. Remote Console Version 2.06.03 is the latest accompanying version.
Fixes in Version 2.06.03:
- Fixed incorrect GPS date, which affected RTS also, since April 6, 2019 (WNRO)
- Fixed current amplifier rail control which would sometimes cause overheating at low currents, e.g. during 3-phase differential tests
- Fixed fundamental ramp with absolute harmonic in single-phase differential mode
- Fixed timing jitter in fault-state transitions (multiples of 12.5 microseconds)
- Fixed Waveform Playback sometimes incorrectly complaining about out-of-range scale factors
- Fixed trip on start in auto tests if selected input was ON when switching away to another Input Number
- Fixed ramp settings turning on when switching Fault Type in Arbitrary mode
- Fixed some Fault State control settings going to default when switching Fault Type
- Fixed wrong phase angles in 2-current 87 mode when six currents available
- Fixed trapped error in 2-Current 87 mode if all currents are disabled for slope test
- Fixed wrong wiring instructions in 2-current 87 Productivity mode when “phase to test” not A
- Fixed several other bugs in 2-current 87 mode
- Fixed inconsistent diode harmonic value label in manual test vs single-phase diff.
Enhancements in Version 2.06.03:
- Added 51-mode Basler curves
- Custom input/timer names are now saved in settings files
- Increased time dial setting range for 51 mode IEC curves

Before starting an upgrade, we strongly recommend removing any USB storage devices, then turning the test set off and back on.
RapidTest™-Version 0.96
With RapidTest, you no longer have to connect the MTS-5100/5100 to a PC in order to produce complete, customizable, attractive reports. Instead, the testing and reporting process becomes:
- Carry out your tests as you normally would using the manual test features or productivity modes of the MTS-5000 or MTS-5100. Save a report file either to the MTS-5×00’s internal storage or to a USB flash drive after each test.
- Transport the XML (*.MTSResult) files to your PC, using either a USB flash drive or an Ethernet connection (the USB flash drive approach is usually easier).
- Import the test result files into RapidTest’s database.
- When you have all of the tests imported into RapidTest, print a report
RapidTest includes several different report templates, and most users can produce the reports they need using those templates. If you require further customization of report formats, we recommend you contact [email protected], for assistance in creating or modifying templates. RapidTest Version 0.96 works with MTS-5×00 software version 1.90 or later. We recommend using the latest MTS-5×00 software (currently Version 2.06) to take advantage of all available features.
Changes since RapidTest Version 0.95.01 include:
- Name change to “RapidTest”.
- “Simplified View” for test definitions, allowing you to enter test cases in a simple row/column format.
- Copy and paste support for test definition data using the simplified view, for interchange with spreadsheets or other software.
- Spreadsheet import to create test cases, including multiple terminals per test case and multiple test cases per spreadsheet. With the addition of this feature RapidTest now fully replaces the “E2E Settings File Generator” program, so that program will no longer be supported.
- Ability to compare two test definitions, showing all the differences between them.
- Ability to import multi-case manualTestSettings files that were generated using the E2E Settings File Generator program.
- Many usability enhancements.
System Requirements
- Microsoft Windows XP or newer. It may run on Windows 98 and Windows ME, but we haven’t tested it with those operating systems.
- Microsoft .NET framework version 4.0, if you are running Windows 7 or earlier (Windows 8 and newer versions come with the required framework already installed).
- 50MB of disk space for the RapidTest program
- 100MB of free disk space for your RapidTest data.
- Your screen resolution should be 1024×768 or higher. If your display driver is set to “large fonts” or a custom DPI (dots per inch) setting, you may find some on-screen forms difficult to use.
Installation Instructions
Download one of the attached files, and run it on your computer. Depending on your system configuration, it may be necessary to do this as an administrator, which may require coordination with your IT support person or department.
- SetupRapidTest_0.96.exe contains the RapidTest program and Windows .Net framework 4.0 and can be used on any windows computer
- SetupRapidTest_NO.NET_0.96.exe is a smaller file size because Windows .NET framework 4.0 is not included in the file. Do not use this file if Windows .NET Framework 4.0 is not installed on your computer.
